Canada Post International Shipping Cost
Canada Post international shipping depends on the type of service you choose. The rates of each service are decided by each of these factors: the weight of your package, shipping distance, package dimensions, delivery speed, and courier service.
Sending a standard-sized mail will cost you $2.71 if you want to send it internationally. When it comes to standard-sized mail, this includes letter envelopes and postcards. The dimensions of a standard-sized mail should have a minimum of 5.6” by 3.6” and a maximum size of 9.6” x 6.1”.
The weight of a standard-sized mail should be between 30 grams to 50 grams and consists of up to 9 sheets of paper. If it weighs over 50 grams, it will not be priced as standard-sized mail.
Unusually shaped envelopes and large documents are considered non-standard or oversize mail by Canada Post.
Oversized mail can weigh up to 100 grams and consists of 20 sheets of paper is priced at a minimum rate of $6.39 if you want it to be shipped internationally. This is the minimum postal rate for sending non-standard or oversized mail internationally.
Oversized mail that weighs over 100 grams but not more than 200 grams and consists of 40 sheets of paper is priced at a minimum rate of $11.14 if you want it to be shipped internationally.
However, if you are sending oversized mail that weighs between 200 to 300 grams, Canada Post’s rate is $22.28 for international shipping. The good thing about this is that if you are sending non-standard mail that weighs 300 grams to 400 grams, the rate is the same.
If you are sending an oversize mail that weighs 400 grams but not over 500 grams, the price stays the same at $22.28. In short, Canada Post offers to ship an oversized mail that weighs 200 to 500 grams internationally at the same rate of $22.28.
Over 500 grams are considered parcels by Canada Post.
Is Canada Post international shipping tracking accurate?
Canada Post international shipping tracking has many mixed reviews. While others say it is accurate, some customers say it isn’t. If you want to be sure where your parcel is, you can use Ship Resolve.
Ship Resolve offers real-time updates on your parcels. Just enter your tracking number on the homepage and you should see where your parcels are. Ship Resolve does not have the power to track parcels when they are in transit but it will show where it is after the transit. Please do note that Ship Resolve will only relay information from the courier’s system and does not make its own information.
Canada Post International Shipping Delayed
Although Canada Post guarantees its customers on-time delivery, the reason why international shipping is not on-time might be because of several factors.
Factors that could affect the speed of the delivery may include:
- Public holidays – couriers don’t deliver during public holidays or on Sundays.
- Global pandemic – the area that the parcel is being delivered is under lockdown or in a state of emergency
- Inclement weather – the weather in the area being delivered to is not safe for delivery.
- Remote area – the area where the parcel is being delivered is hard to locate.
- Road blockage – the roads of the area that is being delivered are blocked or under construction.
